Rules & Ragulataions

A. ADMISSION AND WITHDRAWAL

1. The management reserves the right to refuse admission to and student without furnishing any reason.
2. The Application Form for Registration/Admission shall be signed only by the parents or lawful/authorised guardians. The form should be accompanied with an authentic document containing the child's date of birth. It should be only from a Corporation or Anchal Panchayat. Affidavit or Hospital certificate is not acceptable.
3. Special attention must be paid while entering the name and date of birth of the child in the form, as subsequent changes will not be permitted.
4. The school reserves the right to admit a pupil to class suited to his/her level. Admission will be finalized strictly on merit basis after screening/interview/interaction/written test as per the decision of the management and on payment of the prescribed fees.
5. A written test will be conducted for class VI and above in English, Hindi, Mathematics and Science to judge the eligibility of the candidate.
6. For withdrawal of a student from the school, at least one calender month's notice must be given in writing, otherwise a calender month's fee be charged.
7. The names of the pupils who remain absent for two weeks or more without leave shall be struck off the rolls.
8. Once admission is taken, the fees will not be refunded, even if the child is withdrawn.

B. LEAVE AND ABSENCE

1. Student should attend the school regularly and must be punctual for classes and participate in all the activities. They must reach the school at least ten minutes before the morning Assembly.
2. The school gates will close at 7:30 am in summer and 8:10 am in winter. Late comers will not be allowed to enter the school premises.
3. Leave application from parents are to be submitted according to the sample format given in the diary addressed to the class teacher. Every absence must be entered in the leave record pages of the school diary and duly signed by the parents.
4. Re-test are not taken for students who remain absent during test/examination.
5. Every student in expected to have a minimum of 80% attendance during the academic year, failing which he/she may not be permitted to take the annual examination.
6. Students will not be allowed to leave the premises of the school before the school gets over (no half day leaves) except in case of an emergency, for which parents/guardians have to submit a written request to the Principal. Parent ID card and written permission from the Principal is mandatory for the same.
7. Absence for more than three days at the beginning of a team or immediately after a vaca-tion without prior notice renders a student liable to have his/her name struck off the rolls.

C. ILLNESS AND ISOLATION

It is a matter of deep concern that parents allow children suffering from infections ailments to attend classes or examinations.

SUMMER

A child should be medically examined at the first sign of ay rash/fever and should be seen to school only on the advice of a doctor. On recovery from an infectious ailment, a child should remain at home for the period of quarantine as advised by a doctor. In order to return to school, a medical fitness certificate duly signed by a doctor, should be submitted to the office.
Quarantine period recommended for:
1. Chicken pox-3 weeks (till the complete falling of scabs)
2. Measles-2 weeks
3. Mumps-2 weeks
4. Conjunctivitis - 1 week
5. Jaundice-4 weeks
If students come to school with infectious diseases, they will be sent back home.
A student must be medically fit to attend school.

D. PARENT - TEACHER MEETING

1. Periodic meetings of parents with teachers are arranged by the Principal in order to ensure coordination in the process of the children's education.
2. Parents are requested to make good use of this opportunity for building mutual under-standing between the parents and teachers with regard to the holistic development of their wards. The parents are requested to bring their ward/wards along with them in proper school uniform when they attend the P.T.M. Kindly carry the parent ID card on PTM days. Remarks by the teachers on the PTM registers must be read and duly signed by the parents.
3. Regular absence of parents from PTMs will be seriously viewed.

4. On PTM days the Principal will not be available for meetings with parents.
5. PTM Timings 8:00 am to 10:30 am

E. SCHOOL BOOKS

All students must bring the text books and stationary prescribed for their respective classes. Books must be covered and bear the student's name and class with section on the cover and inner page. Students are expected to take good care of their belongings. Kindly note that only notebooks with the school logo should be used by the students.

F. SCHOOL FEES

1. The school fee and transport fee are collected for three months in advance. The fees are due in April, July, October and January. The fee should be deposited on or before the 20th of the months mentioned above. A late fee of Rs. 50/- will be charged (separately for school fee & transport fee) till the end of the month, after which Rs. 10/- per day will be levied for the late payment of the fees. Other annual charges are to be paid along with the first quarter fee.
2. All fees should be paid through cheque/DD/Cash. Transport fee for all the classes should be drawn in favour of APS (TRANSPORT).
3. Non-payment of fees for a quarter will result in the cancellation of the admission of the ward. For the continuation of studies/academics in the school, he/she should re-register with a registration fee of Rs. 200/- along with the complete remittance of dues.
4. Parents are requested to keep the receipt issued to them from the office and produce them as a proof of payment of the fee whenever required.
5. The school fee is subject to revision from time to time due to the increase in teachers salaries, maintenance and other expenses.
6. Fees once paid in non-refundable.
7. Pupils will not be allowed to sit for examinations unless all dues are cleared.
8. In case a cheque bounces, the amount mentioned in the cheque along with the bounce charged of Rs. 200/-have be made only by DD. No cash payment will be accepted.

TRANSPORTATION

1. Student who avail school bus/transport facility should report to the assigned pick-up point at least five minutes before the stipulated time.
2. The buses will not wait for any late-comers.
3. The drivers are authorized to stop the buses only at the designated stops. No diversion/extension will be entertained on existing routes.
4. No student will be permitted to board a bus other than the one to which he/she is assigned.
5. Students will board the bus in an orderly manner, giving due priority to younger students.
6. Parents who have self transport arrangements should ensure that their wards report to school before the morning assembly begins and pick up the child only after the school hours are over. No cars or any other mode of transport will be permitted to be parked in front of the school during the school hours.
7. Any request to change the bus route/stop must be submitted to the Principal office in writing.
8. The following acts are considered as serious violations:
a. Discourtesy and disobedience towards the driver and conductor.
b. Changing places frequently while the bus is in motion.
c. Discourtesy to other children.
d. Pushing and jostling when boarding the bus.
e. Trying to distract bus driver's attention.
f. Destroying bus properly.
9. If a child is found undisciplined or violating any of the above rules, the Principal at his/her discretion may take any disciplinary action, even suspending the offender from the bus.
10. Parents who want their children to avail the school transport should give a written under taking that the school will not be held responsible for any damage/injury/loss of life or property due to any accident and/or any failure to pick up or reach the students in time.
11. The bus service is liable to be withdrawn or changed from any area as and when it is not found feasible. Transport charges vary according to the distances. However, transport charges may be increased when the need arises, and this may be done without prior notice.
12. A calendar month's notice must be given in writing before withdrawing a pupil from the school transport facility. However, students who have availed school transport facility for the second and third quarter will not be allowed to discontinue during the last quarter.
13. Parents are responsible for ensuring the safe return of their children after school hours, when transport is not provided by the school.
14. The school is not responsible for any student boarding a wrong bus from the school or go-ing to another student's house, without prior permission from the parents and verification of the same by the school authority.
15. Parents are required to educate their children to board the proper bus and in case of any doubt, advise them to stay back in the school for remedial action.
16. The school transport facility will be made available only if seating capacity in a given bus route is available. Admission to the school doesn't guarantee the transport facility.
17. Parents are expected to make their own transport arrangement whenever students have to come before or after the school hours for any competition or activity.
18. The transport fee is charged for the entire year.

EXAMINATION/PROMOTION

Assessment is a day to day activity which a teacher undertakes to know and discover the qualities, talents, abilities and short coming s of the students. The teacher uses various techniques and methods to know, study and assess the student's mental, physics, social, emotional, aesthetic and spiritual development. The teacher is in constant touch with the students to help them in their all-round development.

To access the progress of each student in the various subjects and to facilitate an intense study of all the subjects, the performance of the students will be assessed based on periodic tests, half yearly and annual exams as well as notebook work and subject enrichment activities.

All promotions are decided by the Principal in consultation with the teacher at the end of the academic year. Promotion is granted on the basis of the grades/marks obtained in the assessment/examination as well as the general performance during the entire year. In deciding the action. The minimum pass marks in each subject will be 40 percent classes VI to VIII. Special arrangements for assessment/examinations can not be made for pupils who for any reason are absent from any of the tests or examinations. Absence/leave in an assessment/examina-tion will be treated as having received no marks in it.

Written work is only one of the many ways of assessing a students. Even in the written work, the teacher takes into account the QUALITY, ACCURACY, NEATNESS and EFFICIENCY with which the work is done. Besides the written tasks, the students are

graded for their response in class, class work, sketches, display of models, charts etc. They are expected to express their thoughts freely and confidently. The teacher also takes into account honesty, creativity and originality of the work, while allotting grades.

Willful breach of the rules and regulations during the examinations is punishable with expulsion from the examination hall, or subsequent cancellation of the entire examination. The result declared by the Principal will be final and will be reconsidered. Parents/Guardians should personally collect the progress report card issued after the exams. Class assessments must also be signed by the parents as and when directed by the teachers. As a general rule, no answer sheets will be shown to the parents.

EXPECTATIONS FROM PARENTS

1. Parents are requested to co-operate with the Director, Principal and staff to ensure effective functioning of the school and the well being of their wards.
2. Parents are co-educators of the child, so it is essential that they mould the character of their wards and instill discipline and moral values.
3. In the interest of the child's future, it is very essential for him/her to imbibe self-discipline. The teacher will take adequate corrective measures to ensure the general discipline of the class under her/his care. The teacher's efforts will bear fruit only with adequate positive inputs from the parents.
4. Parents must sign o the page after taking note of the remarks written by the teacher, in the diary as well as in the test notebooks and guide the child accordingly without undue pressure. Parents are requested to ensure that their remarks in the diary are duly attended by the teachers. If not, they are requested to bring in to the notice of the Principal.
5. Our school strongly discourages private tuitions. The teaching programme in the school is good enough for the students to perform well, provided they are attentive in the class and realise their responsibilities. The habit f self-study and regularity in reading must be encouraged at home.
6. Parents are requested to see that some amount of regular English conversation takes place at home.
7. Parents will be allowed to enter the school premises only after the verification of their credentials by way of checking their I.D. card issued to them by the school authorities.
8. Parents are not permitted to interact with the teachers or students during the school hours. In case of any emergency, the Principal must be contacted.
9. Entry is forbidden for parents and visitors beyond the school Reception Area. Parents are strictly forbidden to go to ay class or to the teaching areas without the permission and sanction from the school authorities.
10. Parents should keep in mind that as co-educators of the child, it is very essential to observe the dress code when they are in school premises. Pedal-pushers, Bermuda shorts or any tight fitting or suggestive clothing could be source of distraction or deviation from the normal dress code.
11. Parents who visit the school during school hours are to make known the purpose of their visit at the reception counter so that they can be attended to. They should not proceed to the classes and disturb the teaching.
12. Criticism of teachers or the school in front of the wards/other parents should be strictly avoided as it causes the student to lose his/her respect for the teachers. If any parent humiliates or insults a teacher, the school reserves the right to ask that parent to withdraw their ward forthwith or at the end of the academic year. If there are genuine complaints pertaining to a teacher, parent register a written complaint against the teacher. According to the nature of the complaint, suitable action will be taken.
13. Parents are expected to converse and communicate ONLY in English in the school premises.
14. Parents should avoid using the school as a meeting place for airing grievances. Commu-nication of problems in writing to the school authorities, will be appreciated. Parents who intentionally organize others to revolt against the management or invite the media into the campus in order to defame the institution, will be asked to withdraw their wards from the school immediately.
15. Parents should ensure that their wards are regular in studies and allied assignments.
16. Healthy and nutritious food should be packed for tiffin along with a napkin.
17. In case you need, any help for school/Principal, regarding the well being of your ward please, do not hesitate to communicate.
18. Whenever changes occur in your residence/office address and telephone numbers kindly notify it in writing to the school office and the class teachers immediately.
19. Parents are requested to see that their ward does not bring home anything from the school without the teacher's knowledge, and if se send it back the very next day and inform the teacher.

EXPECTATIONS FROM STUDENTS

1. All the students should come to school neatly dressed in clean uniform. Otherwise they will be refused entry to the class.
2. It is the duty of all students to keep their class room and surrounding, clean and in order.
3. No students is allowed to write his/her name or leave any indelible marks on the furniture. Before leaving the classroom student should pick up any waste paper and unwanted material lying in the floor and drop it in the dustbins provided.
4. Students are not allowed to write on chalk boards and white boards unless asked to do so by the teacher.
5. Students should observe silence in the verandas, corridors and stairs during class hours.
6. Punctually and regular attendance, earnestness in home assignments and good behaviour in and outside the school are always insisted on, and in all these matters the cooperation of parents is expected to all times.
7. The Principal may ask the parents to withdraw from the school, those children who do not follow the rules and regulations of the school or if parents themselves do not co-operate with the school authorities.
8. Students should wear their identity cards with the school uniform for their safety and security.
9. In order to enable the students to acquire sound principles of conduct, action and also to lay a solid foundation for a purposeful life, the school organizes various activities which are generally based on the syllabus of the class. Parents must encourage their ward's participation in all these activities.
10. Students should excel in good manners. They should show respect to their parents, elders school authorities and teaching staff. They should be gentle and polite.
11. A student should not leave his/her class room or enter any classroom other than his/her own without permission.
12. English being the medium of instruction in the school, student are expected to speak only in English in the class and in the school premises.
13. Every student must bring a packed tiffin along with him/her. No lunch packets or any other articles should be brought to the students by parents during the school hours.
14. Parents/students are forbidden to give gifts to the teachers on any occasion. No student is allowed to bring any gift or costly item to distribute to his/her classmates on the occasion of his/her birthday. Only sweets are allowed.
15. Incase of injuries sustained by students while in the school, first aid will be rendered immediately. And injuries necessitating Hospital/OPD treatment will be attended without delay.
16. Every student should take care of school property. Intentional damage to school property is a serious breach of school discipline and will have to be made good by the defaulting students.
17. Children should do their home-work regularly.
18. Students are forbidden to bring any electronic gadgets or other valuables to the school. If found disobeying, strict action will be taken against those students.
19. Every student should take care of his/her personal belongings. School authorities do not take on any responsibility for the loss of such belongings. The name of the student/admission no. and class should be marked on the personal belongings to facilitate recovery if lost in the school premises.
20. Student found possessing/reading/viewing any material of indecent nature will be dismissed without any prior notice.
21. Student found involved in cyber crime will be suspended will immediate effect and if it is proved, they will be dismissed from the school.
22. The school reserves the right to dismiss the student whose diligence or progress in studies is unsatisfactory or whose conduct is harmful to other students or whose guardians show little interest in the progress of their wards. Habitual illness or action detrimental to the discipline and the morals of the school or grave insubordination and contempt of authority or wilful damage of property or non payment of fee is always sufficient reason for immediate dismissal.
23. Immediate expulsion or even dismissal will follow if the continued presence of the defaulting student is damaging to the physical and moral well being of other students and of the school, or if the violation is punishable seriously at the board level, such as unfair practices during examinations.
24. The interpretation of any rule in this as well as any amendment to it rests solely and entirely with the governing body of the school. Their interpretation shall be final and binding on parents and students.
25. Pupil with unkempt hair will be prevented from attending school.
26. Boys are not allowed to wear coloured vests.
27. Girls are not allowed to wear fancy ear rings, bangles or finger rings. The growing of nails and use of nail polish is forbidden.
28. School uniform forbids the use of jewellery, henna/mehandi, streaking of hair, make up, tattoos etc.
29. No student shall indulge in any of the following practices, namely:
a. Disfiguring or damaging any school property.
b. Use of drugs or intoxicants.
c. Bullying and rude behaviour.
d. Use of violence in any form.
e. Use of bad language or hurting the modesty of others.
f. Playing truant during class hours.
30. Fines which may be deemed necessary to be imposed on the students are only to improve or to enforce discipline.
31. A student involved in any incident, even outside the school, which brings discredit to the institution either because of its unpleasant nature or inviting criminal or legal action by police or by the court will be dismissed from the school without further enquiry.
32. A student involved in any attempt of defaming the management, teachers and fellow students using social networking sites like Face book will be dismissed immediately and are liable to legal actions under cyber crime and IT Act 2000.
